About us
A small-town practice doing serious medicine.
Locally owned. Independently run. Built one neighbor at a time. This is the story of how we got here — and where we're heading.
The story
Nineteen years of Saturdays.
Martinsville Urgent Care opened its doors in 2007 because the math wasn't adding up for our community: a fever on a weekend shouldn't mean four hours in an emergency room and a thousand-dollar bill. A sprained ankle on a Sunday shouldn't ruin the start of a Monday work week.
So we built a clinic where the people who actually live here could come for the everyday things — coughs, cuts, x-rays, physicals, the surprises that fill a parent's week. We were the first urgent care in Martinsville, and through flu seasons and a pandemic we've stayed open and stayed local.
Nineteen-plus years later, a lot of our patients have been our patients for most of that time. We know their kids' names. We know which arm they prefer for shots. That's not unusual for a small-town clinic — but it's never something we take for granted.
In 2026 we did what our patients had been asking us to do for years: opened a brand-new primary care practice downstairs. Same building, new staff, deeper relationship — for the parts of your health that don't fit in a single visit. Use the back parking lot and follow the signs to find us. Urgent Care is upstairs, Primary Care is downstairs.
We're locally owned, independently run, and proud to be Martinsville's. When you walk in, you're supporting a small business that lives and works here too — not a regional health system three states away.
The team
The people who work here.
A small group of providers and staff, most of whom you'll see every visit. We like it that way.
The whole crew
From front desk to exam room — meet the team.
Front office, MAs, nurses, X-ray techs, and providers — every person you'll meet on a visit. Most have been here for years. They'll know you by your second appointment.
We treat people, not patients.
What we believe
How we try to practice medicine.
Treat people, not patients.
Names matter. So does eye contact, follow-up, and remembering what was going on in your life last visit.
Don't waste time.
Your time, our time, the day's time. We track our wait times, communicate clearly, and respect that you have a life outside this exam room.
Be honest about cost.
Self-pay rates up front. Insurance billed straightforwardly. No surprise statements three months later that nobody warned you about.
