Primary Care · What we treat
Care for the whole picture.
Primary care is the relationship part of medicine — the doctor who knows your history, watches the trends, catches things early, and refers you to a specialist only when you actually need one.
Annual physicals & preventive care
Yearly check-ups, age-appropriate screenings (cholesterol, blood pressure, diabetes, cancer screenings), and the lifestyle conversations that actually move the needle.
Diabetes, hypertension, cholesterol
Ongoing management of long-term conditions with regular follow-ups, lab work, and adjustments to keep you steady — not just prescriptions.
The stuff that pops up
Sinus infections, UTIs, skin issues, joint pain, sleep concerns. When something's bothering you between annual visits, you don't need a specialist — you need your doctor.
Annual exams & gynecologic care
Pap smears, pelvic exams, contraception counseling, menopause guidance, and referrals to OB/GYN when needed.
Hormone replacement therapy
Personalized HRT for women navigating perimenopause, menopause, and the symptoms that come with hormonal change. We start with a conversation about your goals and a workup, then build a plan that fits your life.
Prostate, heart, & preventive care
Age-appropriate screenings (prostate, colorectal, cardiovascular risk), testosterone questions, and the routine maintenance most guys put off too long.
Wellness & geriatric care
Annual wellness visits, fall-risk assessment, polypharmacy review, cognitive screening, and coordination of specialty care.
Anxiety, depression, ADHD
Screening, treatment, and ongoing medication management for common mental-health concerns. We refer to therapy and psychiatry when that's the right next step.
On-site lab work
Blood draws, in-office testing for many conditions, and same-day results when possible. Less driving, faster answers.
Adult immunizations
Flu, Tdap, shingles, and pneumonia vaccines. We track what you've had and remind you when something's due.
Primary care vs. urgent care
What's the difference?
Both are valuable — but they do different jobs. Here's a quick way to think about it.
Primary care is for…
Annual physicals, chronic conditions, ongoing prescriptions, preventive screenings, mental health, and the slow work of building a long-term relationship with one doctor.
Urgent care is for…
Sudden illnesses or injuries that can't wait — sore throats, sprains, cuts, fevers, x-rays — but aren't life-threatening enough for the ER.
Both are in the same building at 1044 E. Church Street. If you're not sure which you need, just call — we'll point you in the right direction.
Who we see
Care for ages 12 and up.
Martinsville Primary Care welcomes patients ages 12 and up — from middle-schoolers through Medicare-eligible adults and seniors. Whether you're establishing care for the first time or looking to switch from another practice, we're glad to have you. (Age range may expand depending on the doctors we hire.)
Already have urgent care here?
Switching is simple.
If you've been a patient at our urgent care, we already have your basic info. Establishing care with primary care is one short visit — and your records stay in the same building.
